Community Alert: Theft From Motor Vehicle

Date and Time Incident: At approximately 0322hrs on the morning of Tuesday 29th September.

The victim's vehicle was parked roadside, unattended, locked and secure. At the time stated, a suspect was captured on dashcam footage approaching the rear of the vehicle and using an unknown device to bypass the central locking system, gaining entry to the vehicle.

Once inside, the suspect carried out a tidy search of the vehicle and removed property before making off unseen in an unknown direction.

Crime Prevention Advice:

Always remove valuables from your vehicle, even if only leaving it unattended for a short time.

Do not leave bags, wallets, keys, mobile phones, or other valuable items on display.

Ensure your vehicle is locked and double-check before leaving it.

Consider using a steering wheel lock or additional security devices.

If your vehicle has keyless entry, store keys in a signal-blocking pouch (Faraday pouch) when not in use.

Review any vehicle security settings and ensure software updates are installed where applicable.

If you have CCTV, doorbell footage, or dashcam recordings, ensure they are operational and retained.
